Biological Background: EGR1 Function and Localization
- EGR1 is a transcriptional regulator that recognizes and binds to the EGR-site (5'-GCG(T/G)GGGCG-3') in target gene promoters (By similarity). It plays a role in responses to growth factors, DNA damage, and ischemia (PubMed:20121949). Related references: PMID:20121949

- Activates tumor suppressor pathways by inducing p53/TP53 and TGFB1 expression, contributing to tumor prevention.

The predicted molecular weight is approximately 58 kDa, so use appropriate molecular weight markers and loading controls. Validate the antibody in the specific sample system of interest.
- For ELISA, consider optimizing the coating antigen concentration and antibody dilution using recombinant EGR1 protein or peptide. The immunogen corresponds to amino acids 1-250, so this region may be targeted.
