- Cytoplasmic dynein 2 heavy chain 1 (DYNC2H1), also known as dynein heavy chain 11 (hDHC11) or dynein heavy chain isotype 1B, is a large motor protein of approximately 493 kDa.
- It is a key component of the dynein-2 complex and functions as a motor for intraflagellar retrograde transport, essential for cilia biogenesis.
- DYNC2H1 may also play roles in intracellular transport between the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi, as well as in Golgi organization.
- The protein is expressed in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing.
