- DDB1 (DNA damage-binding protein 1), also known as DDB p127 or XAP-1, is a core component of the UV-DDB complex that recognizes UV-induced DNA damage (CPD, 6-4 PP) and recruits nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway proteins to initiate repair.
