- Acts downstream of Wnt ligands and upstream of beta-catenin (CTNNB1) to promote dorsal spinal cord patterning by facilitating Disheveled complex aggregation and Wnt signalosome formation; also inhibits oligodendrocyte differentiation via interaction with PIP5K1A.
- Collaborates with DAAM1 in myocardial maturation and sarcomere assembly, essential for proper heart development.
- Plays a critical role in establishing left/right asymmetry during gut development: downstream of PITX2, it mediates WNT5A-driven non-canonical Wnt signaling to modulate cadherin-based junctions and mesenchymal condensation.
