- Cyclophilin 40, encoded by the PPID gene, is a 40 kDa peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase D (CYP-40), belonging to the cyclophilin family.
- Functions as a peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase), catalyzing the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides, thereby assisting protein folding.
