Biological Background: Cyclin-H Function and Localization
- Cyclin H (also known as MO15-associated protein, p34, or p37) is the regulatory subunit of the CDK-activating kinase (CAK) complex, a master regulator of cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) activity. Related references: PMID:41100585
- It binds and activates CDK7, the catalytic subunit of CAK, which phosphorylates a critical threonine residue on CDK1, CDK2, CDK4, and CDK6, thereby promoting cell cycle progression. Related references: PMID:41100585
