  • CSRNP1, also known as AXUD1, URAX1, and TAIP-3, is a cysteine/serine-rich nuclear protein encoded by the CSRNP1 gene in humans.
  • It functions as a transcriptional activator that binds to the consensus DNA sequence 5'-AGAGTG-3' (By similarity).
  • CSRNP1 may have a tumor-suppressor role and is implicated in apoptosis regulation.
  • The protein is predominantly localized to the nucleus, consistent with its role in transcription regulation.
  • Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in lung, placenta, skeletal muscle, pancreas, and leukocytes; frequently down-regulated in various cancers.
