Biological Background: CRACR2A Function and Localization
- CRACR2A (EF-hand calcium-binding domain-containing protein 4B), also known as EFCAB4B and RAB46, is a calcium-binding protein that acts as a cytoplasmic calcium-sensor and Rab GTPase.
- Plays a key role in store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) in T-cells by regulating CRAC channel activation, facilitating clustering of ORAI1 and STIM1 at ER-PM junctions. Related references: PMID:27016526
