Biological Background: Complement Factor H Function and Localization

• Complement factor H (CFH), also known as H factor 1, is a 139 kDa glycoprotein secreted mainly by the liver, and to a lesser extent by monocytes, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and retinal pigment epithelium.
