Biological Background: CHMP4B Function and Localization
- CHMP4B is a core component of the ESCRT-III complex, essential for forming multivesicular bodies (MVBs) and sorting endosomal cargo into intraluminal vesicles, which are ultimately delivered to lysosomes for degradation (PubMed:12860994, PubMed:18209100).
