  • CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein epsilon (CEBPE) is a member of the C/EBP family of transcription factors, named also as CRP1, C/EBP-epsilon, and linked to immunodeficiency 108 (IMD108).

  • Recognizes and binds to two distinct DNA motifs: the CCAAT homology sequence found in many promoters, and the enhanced core homology sequence common to many enhancers.

  • Localizes to the nucleus, consistent with its role as a DNA-binding transcription factor.
  • Strongest expression is observed in promyelocyte and late-myeloblast-like cell lines.

  • For Western blot, a band at ~31 kDa is expected; include promyelocyte or myeloblast cell lysates (e.g., HL-60, NB4) as positive samples, as these express CEBPE most abundantly.
  • The antibody is suitable for ELISA; validate by coating with recombinant CEBPE protein and optimize coating concentrations empirically.
