Biological Background: CDK2 Function and Localization
- CDK2 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in the control of the cell cycle; it is essential for meiosis but dispensable for mitosis, and it plays a critical role in the G1-S transition and G2/M progression. Related references: PMID:10499802, PMID:10884347, PMID:10995386
