Biological Background: Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 R1 Function and Localization

• Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 R1 (also known as CDC34, UBE2R1, UBCH3) is a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family that accepts ubiquitin from an E1 activating enzyme and catalyzes its covalent attachment to substrate proteins, often in cooperation with E3 ligases.
