- The immunogen corresponds to amino acids 206–630 of the human/mouse SLC3A2 sequence, which encompasses a large intracellular region; thus, the antibody is likely to recognize both the reduced and non-reduced forms in WB. For optimal detection, run samples under reducing conditions and use a positive control such as HeLa or HEK293 cell lysates, where SLC3A2 is highly expressed.
- Given the reported cross-reactivity with rat, this antibody may be suitable for studies in rat tissues or cell lines, but independent validation is recommended to confirm specificity in the chosen experimental system.
- For immunofluorescence (IF/ICC), since SLC3A2 localizes to the plasma membrane and endolysosomal compartments, consider using permeabilization with 0.1% Triton X-100 and co-staining with organelle markers to assess subcellular localization.
- In ELISA applications, ensure that the recombinant protein or peptide used for coating exposes the epitope recognized by this antibody (aa 206–630). Optimize coating and blocking conditions to minimize background.
