Biological Background: CD35 Function and Localization
- Complement receptor type 1 (CR1), also known as the C3b/C4b receptor, is a membrane glycoprotein encoded by the CR1 gene (Gene ID: 1378).
- It serves as an immune adherence receptor on erythrocytes and phagocytes, capturing complement-opsonized pathogens and immune complexes for clearance from the circulation. Related references: PMID:2963069
