Biological Background: CD150/SLAM Function and Localization
- CD150/SLAMF1 is a self-ligand receptor of the SLAM family, modulating activation and differentiation of a wide range of immune cells, and connecting innate and adaptive immune responses.
- In T-cells, SLAMF1 signaling involves both SH2D1A-dependent and PTPN11-dependent pathways, with SH2D1A recruiting FYN to phosphorylate SLAMF1 (PubMed:12458214). Additionally, SH2D1A prevents binding to inhibitory effectors like INPP5D (PubMed:11806999).
