Biological Background: CCBL1 Function and Localization
- CCBL1 (KYAT1) is a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent aminotransferase that catalyzes the irreversible transamination of L-kynurenine to kynurenic acid, a broad-spectrum antagonist of ionotropic excitatory amino acid receptors. Related references: PMID:19338303, PMID:28097769
