Biological Background: BIN1 Function and Localization
- BIN1 (Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1), also known as Amphiphysin II, is encoded by the BIN1 gene and produces multiple isoforms via alternative splicing, including the brain-specific isoform IIA and the ubiquitously expressed isoform BIN1 that is highest in skeletal muscle.
