Biological Background: B4GALT2 Function and Localization
- Beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase 2 (B4GALT2) catalyzes the transfer of galactose from UDP-galactose to N-acetylglucosamine-containing acceptors, playing a key role in the synthesis of complex-type N-linked oligosaccharides on glycoproteins and the carbohydrate moieties of glycolipids.
