  • ATF4, also known as CREB-2 or TaxREB67, is a member of the ATF/CREB transcription factor family and plays pivotal roles in cellular stress adaptation and normal metabolic processes.

  • Regulates metabolic homeostasis by activating genes involved in amino acid synthesis (e.g., ASNS), redox balance, and mitochondrial function, and can either promote cell survival or, when associated with DDIT3/CHOP, trigger apoptosis.
