Biological Background: ARL3 Function and Localization

• ARL3 is a small GTP-binding protein that cycles between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound forms, with the rate of cycling regulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEF) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAP). Related references: PMID:16525022 PMID:18588884
