• ARFGEF1 (also known as BIG1 or p200 ARF-GEP1) is a brefeldin A-inhibited guanine nucleotide-exchange protein that activates ARF1 and ARF3 by catalyzing GDP/GTP exchange, playing a central role in vesicular trafficking.
• It is required for Golgi structure maintenance, potentially independent of its GEF activity, and is essential for the maturation of integrin beta-1 in the Golgi.
