Biological Background: ARAP1 Function and Localization

• ARAP1, also known as centaurin-delta-2 (Cnt-d2), is an Arf-GAP with Rho-GAP domain, ANK repeat and PH domain-containing protein 1 that modulates actin cytoskeleton remodeling.

• For Western blotting, the predicted molecular weight is approximately 162 kDa. Consider using a low-percentage SDS-PAGE gel (e.g., 6–8%) and appropriate molecular weight markers to resolve high-molecular-weight proteins.
• For immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry, ARAP1 displays a multi-compartment localization (Golgi, endosomes, plasma membrane ruffles, podosomes); therefore, co-staining with organelle markers is recommended to confirm specific signals.
