Biological Background: Aquaporin-9 Function and Localization

• Aquaporin-9 (AQP9), also designated aquaglyceroporin-9 or small solute channel 1 (SSC1), is encoded by the AQP9 (SSC1) gene and belongs to the aquaporin family of integral membrane channel proteins.
