• Alkaline phosphatase, tissue-nonspecific isozyme (ALPL), also known as liver/bone/kidney isozyme, exists in multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing and is widely expressed in bone, liver, and kidney tissues.
• Plays an essential role in skeletal and dental mineralization by hydrolyzing extracellular diphosphate (PPi), a potent mineralization inhibitor, into phosphate, thereby promoting hydroxyapatite crystal formation and increasing inorganic phosphate concentration. • For immunohistochemistry (IHC-P), optimize antigen retrieval conditions (e.g., heat-induced epitope retrieval) and validate staining specificity using ALPL-deficient or knockout tissue controls if available.
