Biological Background: ALDH3A1 Function and Localization

• Aldehyde dehydrogenase family 3 member A1 (ALDH3A1), also known as ALDHIII or ALDH3, is a 50 kDa cytoplasmic protein.
• ALDHs play a major role in detoxifying alcohol-derived acetaldehyde and participate in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation (Probable).
