- ACVR1C (Activin receptor type-1C), also called ALK7 or ACTR-IC, is a serine/threonine protein kinase that operates as a type I receptor in the TGF-beta superfamily signaling cascade.

- ACVR1C serves as a receptor for activin AB, activin B, activin E, and the morphogen NODAL; NODAL binding specifically triggers pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative signaling through AKT pathway suppression and Smad2 activation in various cell types including pancreatic beta-cells and neurons.
