- ACSL4 (long-chain-fatty-acid--CoA ligase 4), also known as ACS4, FACL4, or LACS4, is a key enzyme that activates long-chain fatty acids by converting them to acyl-CoA derivatives, which are required for both cellular lipid synthesis and beta-oxidation.
