  • The enzyme preferentially activates palmitoleate, oleate, and linoleate among long-chain fatty acids. Related references: PMID:24269233
  • ACSL1 preferentially converts arachidonate rather than epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) or hydroxyeicosatrienoic acids (HETEs) (By similarity).
  • Localizes primarily to the mitochondrial outer membrane, peroxisomal membrane, microsomal membrane, and endoplasmic reticulum membrane, consistent with its roles in both anabolism and catabolism of lipids.
