  • ACSL1 (Long-chain-fatty-acid–CoA ligase 1) is a key metabolic enzyme that catalyzes the ATP-dependent formation of fatty acyl-CoA thioesters from free long-chain fatty acids, enabling their utilization in lipid synthesis and mitochondrial β-oxidation.
