Biological Background: ACE1 Function and Localization

Experimental Guidance and Technical Tips

• For Western blot, a band at approximately 150 kDa is expected under reducing conditions. Validate expression in appropriate tissue lysates (e.g., lung, kidney).
• In immunohistochemistry (paraffin-embedded), optimize antigen retrieval and antibody dilution for specific tissue types, as ACE is membrane-bound but also detected in cytoplasm and secretions.
• Given cross-reactivity with mouse and rat, this antibody can be considered for studies in rodent models, though validation in the relevant sample system is recommended.
• For ELISA, the antibody can be used as a capture or detection reagent after confirming performance with purified or recombinant ACE1 protein.
