Biological Background: Aladin (AAAS) Function and Localization
- Aladin (AAAS) is a WD repeat-containing protein with a predicted molecular weight of ~60 kDa, and multiple isoforms are produced by alternative splicing.
- Aladin is essential for normal development of the peripheral and central nervous system. Related references: PMID:11062474, PMID:11159947, PMID:16022285
- Aladin is required for correct spindle formation and timely chromosome alignment during mitosis, mediated by proper localization of AURKA and NUMA1. Related references: PMID:26246606
- Aladin predominantly localizes to the nuclear pore complex and nuclear envelope, and additionally associates with spindle poles during cell division.

A specific band at ~60 kDa is expected in human cell or tissue lysates. Additional bands may arise from isoforms or post‑translational modifications.
- For ELISA applications, consider using the antibody as a capture or detection reagent after appropriate titration against the recombinant immunogen or native Aladin in relevant sample matrices.
- Since the antibody is polyclonal, lot‑to‑lot consistency should be verified for critical quantitative applications.
