• 5T4, also known as trophoblast glycoprotein, M6P1, 5T4AG, or WAIF1, is encoded by the TPBG gene and belongs to the leucine-rich repeat protein family.
• It functions as an inhibitor of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling by indirectly interacting with LRP6 and blocking Wnt3a-dependent LRP6 internalization.
• The protein localizes to the cell membrane and contains a signal peptide, a large extracellular domain with leucine-rich repeats, and a single transmembrane helix.
