The two major variants represented by SWISS accessions P62807 (Histone H2B type 1-C/E/F/G/I) and Q16778 (Histone H2B type 2-E) share high sequence similarity and are subject to numerous PTMs, including acetylation, methylation, phosphorylation, and crotonylation. Lysine 15 is a conserved residue across isoforms and is a known site for regulatory modifications; this antibody specifically recognizes the acetylated form at that position.
